  • With HomeKit, you can directly control lights and other things in your home from Apple Watch apps. Developers will now have greater access to hardware features with WatchKit. These include the microphone and speaker, video, accelerometer, Taptic Engine, and Digital Crown.
  • Apple watchOS 2 is also enabling developers to create great experiences for apps, so you can do things like watch and share a Vine or create the perfect workout playlist with the Pacemaker app.
