Video Of 13 year old boy being lynched in Bangladesh Goes Viral – A Pathetic Record of Social Cry. What do we ask for when we fight for Human Rights? What can we ask for when humanity itself has drowned? Why do we label them as humans when they don’t blink an eye before killing another? A 13 year old boy tortured and beaten to death by a few people or I would say savages who enjoyed the violence. A boy named Samiul Alam Rajan was put to death in Bangladesh out of suspicion of theft on July 8,2015.

One of the culprits recorded the merciless beating of this boy on his camera phone. He was laughing and claimed that he would post the video online to show the world how thieves should be treated. The video for ‘Justice for Rajan’ has gone Viral on YouTube.

A poor vegetable vendor, the boy was  tied to a post and beaten with a metal rod, while his attackers laugh and jeer during the attack in Kumargaon, on the outskirts of Sylhet. The boy rigorously pleads for mercy, but his painful cries does not effect the ruthless attackers who kept on torturing him. He was hit several times on his head, stomach and nails with a stick.

The 28-minute video, in which the boy is seen begging for water. He is mocked at and beaten severely even after his claims that he would die. The autopsy reports confirmed that he suffered 64 injuries, including in the head and died due to internal bleeding.

The grisly lynching of a young boy triggered angry protests in Bangladesh, after footage of the killing went viral on social media. It is just not a plain case of lynching, but a pathetic record of lack of humanity in the current world. The protestors demand death penalty for the killers. The question is would it solve the social problem or would it just give a temporary cover up for the shortcomings in the country’s criminal justice system.

The video is viral on social networking sites and angry people are sharing it with others. Sharing a video of torture, is it good a way to ignite sympathy? A mother lost her child, a father demands justice and the brutal record of the torture unleashed upon their son is being shared amongst people. It’s difficult to justify such actions also.

Locals caught Muhith Alam, 22, while he was taking the body in a micro-bus to dump and turned him over to police on July 8.  Authorities have filed a case against four people in the murder. A trial would take place and hopefully the culprits would be punished. This still doesn’t solve the bigger problem-if a man is ready to kill another, if he enjoy’s the killing, how would we save our faith in humanity. The boy screamed and the humanity in us cried “I will die, somebody please save me.”
