Michael Jackson’s 57th Birthday

by Mrinal VermaAugust 31, 2015

Michael Jackson is a name that needs absolutely no introduction. Everyone in this entire world is aware of his extraordinary voice and his tremendous dance moves. He is no longer just a name; he is a brand in himself. Born in 1958, Jackson would have turned 57 on 29 August. The popstar died in 2009 because of propofol and benzodiazepine overdose and a cardiac arrest.

The singer redefined music and still is commonly referred to as King of Pop. On his birthday, his friends, family, and his fans could not stop themselves from getting emotional. The Internet was flooded with messages and pictures of the singer on Saturday, and a lot of celebrities also tweeted about the music god.

La Toya Jackson, his sister, took it to Twitter to pay her regard to her late brother. “Your presence elevated everyone! Your music brought us joy! Your gift will be with us always! #MichaelJackson,” she said. “You will always be loved! Missed but never forgotten! Happy birthday Michael!” Even his brother, Jermaine Jackson, seemed emotional when he tweeted: “Hold close the memories.”

Justin Bieber also tweeted wishing MJ. Beyonce and Snoop Dogg took it to Instagram to share pictures of the singer to remember him. Pharrell Williams tweeted an old picture of Jackson in the studio with the caption “We’ll always remember the legends. Happy birthday to the king.” Chris Brown also shared his love by saying that MJ will always be loved and missed. The talented Lenny Kravitz tweeted a picture of himself with Michael, saying how he is a part of the music industry because of Jackson. Diddy also shared his love on Instagram, asking his followers about their favourite Michael Jackson record. Shawn Mendes, the new budding artist, also tweeted in the honour.

Common took it to another level by sharing a picture of a very young Michael, and complimenting him as the ‘brightest lights this world has seen’. He said that Michael was the one who inspired to be somebody. The love for Jackson did not seen to stop at that and we are glad, because he was and will always be one of the best names in the history of music.

I have always been that girl in the corner with glasses dangling between my ears and my nose buried deep in a book. 20 year old English Literature major, and I absolutely love reading books, watching TV shows and movies that mentally torture me and keeps me up all night crying over the characters that do not exist. And just like everybody else, I enjoy a good cup of coffee and the pleasure of listening to good music.
