Gun Fire in Louisiana
Gun Fire in Louisiana has left the public, once again with nothing but loss. Gun violence has become one of the biggest problems in America, and the nightmare does not seem to have a stop. On Thursday many innocent people, who just wanted to enjoy themselves and get some entertainment, turned to a movie theater, without knowing that that might be the place where they meet their doom. A 59 year old man named John Russel Houser opened fire in a crowd of about hundred locals at Grand 16 Theater in Louisiana. The attack was made during a screening of the movie Trainwreck. Houser ended up killing two people and injuring nine. The deceased ones are reported to be two women: Jillian Johnson, and Mayci Breaux. Johnson was a local businesswoman, and Breaux was in boutique business. Her boyfriend is also one of the men injured in the attack.
The accused and now caught Houser turned the gun on himself when he was caught in action by the police and his escape was blocked by them. Later in public statements, police released information about him, saying he was a drifter from Alabama, staying in Lafayette. When his motel room was searched for further investigation, they found many disguises and a fake license plate on his car. They found various wigs and glasses in his belongings. When his gun was ceased, 13 shots were already fired from it, and his car was parked right next to the exit, which makes the police believe that he had come into the theater with a plan of shooting and escaping.
When research on his past was done, the officials were faced with a history which screamed of a disturbed life. In 2013 Houser is reported to have said that by the end of 2018, the States will have a societal breakdown. He also claimed voting to be a waste of time and wrote that he has no political associations and neither does he believe in it. His reports also note that he has went on many online rants about death, and his behaviour has always been alarming. His family reported him in 2008 for his violent and unreliable behaviour. Even after his admission to a hospital for his mental instability, he threatened his family to continue on his path, and try to do everything he can to stop his daughter’s wedding. His scared wife removed all the guns from their house as a defense.
Houser has a past full of violence and anger. His criminal record is a proof of it. After the attack, he tried to blend in with the fleeing crowd and escape, but failed to do so. Governor Bobby Jindal was on the scene after a few hours and reported about the injured population, including two teachers, and shared his condolences.
