Demi Lovato Releases New Single
The wait is finally over! The singer Demi Lovato has been promoting her new song, Cool for the Summer, on her Instagram and Twitter for a while now, and the constant buzz around it has kept the fans on their toes, trending the topic #CoolForTheSummer on Twitter and just waiting for the song to finally be released. After a long wait the song was finally released on July 1 as the first single of her fifth album which will be released later this year. Within a day, the song has become a hit and already is the anthem of summer 2015.
“This song is so bad ass,” Safehouse Records cofounder Nick Jonas tweeted on Wednesday.
Lovato celebrated the success of her song-which is already number one on iTunes-with a pool party thrown by radio station Z100 at Gansevoort Park Avenue in New York City. She posted various photos on Instagram, thanking her fans for the support and confessing how she misses her boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama.
The song is very edgy and pop infused, which Lovato says is exactly what she wanted it to be. “Cool for the Summer is basically your go-to party anthem song. It’s definitely more grown up than my other singles I’ve released. It’s sexy, it’s fun. After kind of being put in a corner of talking about so many things in my past, I just want to talk about sexy time and fun things!” said the artist herself.
Though the happy times for the singer were interrupted when people on Twitter started comparing her to other female pop artists, saying that her new song seems like a rip off of Katy Perry’s I Kissed a Girl and Jessie J’s Domino. She addressed the issue on the social media outlet and didn’t let haters bring her down. The song is filled with dark, edgy, and catchy hooks, and it brings a new image of the singer who has been living under the shadow of her Disney days for far too long. Overall fans are extremely pleased with the tune and cannot stop replaying it. And neither can us.
