Beetlejuice 2 Confirmed
The praise for Tim Burton and his work supersedes words. For so many years, he has been giving us the best stories which, even after such a long time, does not fail to mesmerize us. Winona Ryder’s confirmation about her next project with Burton only brings joys to the fans.
For quite a while now, there has been many rumours of a sequel to the movie Beetlejuice. There had been no official news which meant everyone was hanging from a thread. But during her interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers, she confirmed the news. The actress was on the show to promote Show Me A Hero, and when Meyers questioned her about the validity of the rumours, the actor only brought good news.
“I think I can confirm it,” she said.
Even Burton hinted on the issue in the past, but her statement is being treated as an official verification. The original cast will be brought together once again for Beetlejuice 2. The story line is still under wraps. Burton has been in talks about the movie since 2013, and has been in contact with Warner Bros and Michael Keaton. Keaton also seemed happy and eager to work with the director once again. He once said in his interview that if Burton is planning a sequel, it will be hard for him to not be associated with the project.
Seth Grahame-Smith was hired in 2011 to write and produce the upcoming sequel, and he was extremely happy to be linked to the project. “[It is] a story that is worthy of us actually doing this for real, something that is not just about cashing in, is not just about forcing a remake or a reboot down someone’s throat,” he said.
The original movie was released in 1988 where an obnoxious, troublesome ghost named Betelgeuse tries his best to scare away the new residents of the house. Ryder played the teen daughter of the couple. The movie did great on box-office and went on to collect many awards.
