Angelina Jolie, The Director Once Again
Netflix has become a huge phenomenon in the recent past. From all the beloved shows to movies, Netflix is undoubtedly everyone’s favourite. Even the high-class celebrities have been seen collaborating with the platform for their new TV Shows and movies, and Angelina Jolie is the newest addition to the long list.
Angelina Jolie will be donning on the cap of the director for a feature-length film which will be directly released on the streaming platform. The news was made public on Thursday that Jolie will be directing and producing a film. It will be based on the book First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers, written by Loung Ung. Ung is a Cambodian author, and in the book she talks about her personal experience during the Khmer Rouge rule over the country in 1975. The movie is said to be released in 2016.
Angelina Jolie is very excited to work on the project, and says that the book has helped her a lot and created a better understanding for her to comprehend the experience and life of people, especially children, who survive wars and are emotionally affected by it. It is also a very special project for Angelina Jolie as her son Maddox was born in Cambodia. Jolie wants her children to stay true to their roots, and this project will help her get a better outlook on the country from where her son comes. She also reported that her son will be a very active part of the production and she is very happy with this decision.

“Films like this are hard to watch but important to see. They are also hard to get made. Netflix is making this possible, and I am looking forward to working with them and excited that the film will reach so many people,” said the global sensation in her interview.
Angelina Jolie and Ung are writing the script together. This will be Jolie’s fourth attempt at direction, and we have hopes that it will be as big of a success as her previous films.
